Left New Ross.  At Waterford to see the crystal glass factory.  We were shown all the different stages of workmanship.  Very exacting work and very clever.  Takes ten years apprenticeship.  No wonder cut glass is so expensive.
Then to Cork, a place of big ships and dry docks etc.  Went straight through to Blarney and a visit to a wool and tweed factory.  Bought Gwen's skirt and sleeveless jumpers and a fox.  Some of our members went to the Blarney Castle and kissed the Blarney Stone. On to Killarney for the night. Killarney Ryan Hotel 5.30 pm.
Countryside very lovely with little paddocks with hedges.  Level country so could see a long way back.  At hotel had a lovely tea.  Went to TV room and watched a film.  Then shower and bed.
